Spring 2007: Favourably situated a few miles to the NW of Bruges, a warm welcome from Gilbert Van Den Broucke and the other local pilots. We had spoken to them beforehand to arrange a mass visit by the WFAeC.

Very flat part of the world and no problems with approaches or departures. Good grass runway. Take care not to infringe Ostende's CTR - there's a lot of controlled airspace in this part of Europe. Safe overnight parking.

We were taken into the City by local pilots. Bruges is a fairly expensive destination and accommodation can be difficult to organise. I stayed at hotel Ter Brugge, which is in the old part of town right next to acanal. Room was however about €100. Good place for a weekend trip though as distances from UK are very manageable.
