France - NAV2000.com

This is the leading online French flight information site for leisure pilots. It is in French language, so may take a bit of getting used to, but you will find a wealth of information, including map data in several formats. It does cover countries other than France, as you will see from one of the menus, but not usually in as much detail.

Clicking on this link will initially take you to the Welcome Page, entitled "Bienvenue sur Nav2000"

In the panel on the left, it is suggested that you next click on either "Sur Carte" or "Texte Libre"

"Sur Carte" enables you to look at all airfields within the given radius, which you can reduce or increase from the default value of 50 km. You then need to select the Country from the given list. After that, click on the map in the approxiamte area of your interest and a list of airfields within the chosen radius from that point will be presented. You can look at each airfield by clicking on the OACI ("ICAO") code shown.

"Texte Libre" is a better choice if you already know the name or OACI code of the field. Enter the name or OACI (if the latter you will need to check the OACI box below). Then click on "Cherchez". This will take you straight to the airfield data.

The airfield data contains a schematic chart extract, two or more local maps showing the position of the field, comments about the field and how to contact it and, usually, one or more aerial photographs. The latter are very useful in helping to identify the field as you approach it.

There are other options in Nav2000 which you can explore from the initial menu of choices.

Germany - eddh.de

This is an online German flight information site. It is in German language, but persevere to find information on many German aifields, including an approach photograph, and links to maps.

Clicking on this link will take you to the main page. From the menu presented on the left, click on "INFO". Then on the sub-menu "Landeninformationen". This will present a page on which you are invited to enter either the ICAO or the airfield name. Then click "Suchen" to take you to the airfield entry.

As in Nav2000, one of the most useful features is a photograph of the airfield taken from fairly low level. this helps to identify it as you approach. There is also other information about the field, including a list of nearby alternate fields which are presented as links.

United Kingdom - ukga.com

A very popular online UK guide, which contains a wide range of airfield information. Being in English means that translated instructions are not really necessary!
